I became a fan of Doctor Who around 1983. I had moved to Bartlesville, OK, the year before after Mom and Dad had gotten divorced, she was dating or married to the man who brought us there.
I switched on the local PBS station expecting to watch 'the Goodies' shows I was familiar with when living in Bettendorf, IA (1/4th of the Quad Cities), and Tom Baker's 'Robot' episode started my trek as a Whovian.
The First novel I had gotten of the series, was the 'Pinnical' black cover TV adaption of 'the Android Invasion', given to me by my mom.
So not only does it hold Great importance due to it was my First Doctor Who book, but with her passing back in 2o1o, it holds a secondary meaning too.
